Kullakallikesed tere tulemast tagasi meie imelisse blogisse. Kujutate pilti….meil on läbitud kümnes nädal, peagi näete juba meie kauneid päevitunud nägusi, kuid seniks peate veel leppima meie toredate juttude ja piltidega.😉
Seekordse blogi jaoks uuriti meie sõpradelt, et mis oleks esimene asi, mida nad Eestis süüa tahaks…..
Linda:
Vot see olekski perfektne!
We didn’t come here to feel good, we came here to become better!
Robini sai see nädal live translate’i kaudu mehhiklastega jutustada ja isegi basseinis ujudes (jälle) raamatuid müüa.
Marleen kuulas see nädal iga päev Tujurikkuja Koit Toome nädalalõpp laulu. Samuti sai ta ühe pere käest orgaanilisi tooteid, mida nad ise kasvatasid ja tegid.
Karolina kohtas perekonda, kus isa on pärit Vietnamist ja ema Pakistanist. Nad tutvustasid talle hindu kultuuri ja tegid lausa ise traditsioonilist chai teed ☕️
Lisaks kolisid poisid jälle uude linna! Seekord vallutavad nad Lumbertoni.
Järgmine nädal on I WANNA WIN nädal. Ja selleks läheme New Yorki!
Uus postitus tuleb juba Statue of Liberty kõrvalt ja koos teiste Eesti orgidega!
Pole mingit pinget, pole mingit kiirust – lihtsalt mõnusad inimesed, mõnusad sit-downid ja täielik we’ll figure it out attitude.
Daniel Last week on the field, I knocked on a random door after a long day of getting rejected, and an actual alien opened it. I completely froze, but somehow my sales instincts kicked in and I started my presentation like nothing was wrong. The alien listened for about thirty seconds, asked if the books could teach him how to communicate with humans, and then bought the entire set. Before I left, he shook my hand and said, “Thank you. My species has been watching your planet for 400 years, and you are the weirdest thing we have ever seen.” Honestly, it was probably my best sale of the week.
Olari ran into a rather intense guy who wanted him to repeat “Jesus Christ, I let you into my heart.” He politely declined.
Lysanna met a grandma with an incredible 115 grandchildren — a number that’s hard to even wrap your head around.
Trevon spent the week meeting a lot of awesome, faith-filled families.
And Britta got to pet an absolutely gigantic dog — the highlight of her week.
There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a team when everyone wakes up in a different town. This week, Team 7UP wasn’t knocking on doors in a tidy cluster — we were spread across the map like pins on a corkboard. Parvin and Matthias were working Huron. The girls had set up in Watertown. Michael and Gabriel were out in Yankton. Three towns, one team, all of us doing the same thing at the same time: walking up to strangers’ doors and finding out what the day had in store.
It’s strange how that works. You’d think being apart would make the summer feel lonelier, but somehow it does the opposite. Every night, phones light up with stories from three different corners of the state, and you realize the whole team is stretching in the same direction even when nobody’s standing next to each other to see it happen.
The Stretch
Southwestern has a way of taking whatever comfort zone you walked in with and quietly dismantling it, one doorbell at a time. Working solo towns like this week does exactly that. There’s no teammate three doors down to lean on, no one to bounce a joke off between houses. It’s just you, the sidewalk, and whoever answers. And somehow, that’s exactly the kind of pressure that makes people grow. You get better at reading a stranger’s face in the first two seconds. You get better at recovering when a door closes a little too fast. You get better, honestly, at being alone with your own thoughts for long stretches of a hot afternoon — which turns out to be its own kind of skill.
Yankton: Michael, the Dogs, and a Home to Call His Own
Michael’s week in Yankton delivered one of those wins that makes all the walking worth it — he found a host family. Anyone who’s done this kind of summer knows what that means: a bed that’s yours for the stretch, a kitchen table, maybe someone to ask how your day went. It’s a small thing that makes a very large difference.
But if you ask Michael what he’ll remember most about Yankton, there’s a decent chance it won’t be the host family — it’ll be the dogs. For reasons nobody can quite explain, the dogs of Yankton took an immediate and enthusiastic liking to him. Not just a friendly sniff and a wag, either. Multiple dogs decided the best use of their afternoon was to climb into Michael’s lap and sit there, fully committed, as if he’d been personally appointed the town’s dog whisperer. There’s something very on-brand about a summer where the humans are a mixed bag of yeses and no-thank-yous, and the dogs are unanimous.
Gabriel, working alongside Michael in Beresford, had his own version of the door-to-door mental game. Somewhere in the long stretches between houses, Gabriel found himself deep in high-level self-talk — the kind of internal pep talk that keeps your feet moving toward the next door even when your brain would rather sit down in the shade. And when the humans weren’t biting, Gabriel gave the dogs a shot too, trying out a bit of conversation on Beresford’s canine population, with results about as clear as you’d expect from a species that communicates primarily through tail position.
Huron: A Family, a Barbecue, and the Nicest Police Officers in Town
Over in Huron, Matthias had a week that sounds like it could only happen on a door-to-door summer. Going house to house, he found his own host family — that particular relief of knowing where you’ll sleep tonight, found the old-fashioned way, one knock at a time.
Then came the barbecue. A pastor in Huron happened to be hosting one, and rather than send Matthias on his way, invited him in and sent him off with burgers and hot dogs. It’s the kind of unplanned kindness that this job seems to specialize in — you go out expecting doors, and every so often a door opens into a full meal instead.
Not every encounter was quite so warm, though. At some point, someone in Huron called the police on Matthias — which, if you’ve never had it happen, is a genuinely unsettling moment when you’re just a student trying to talk about books. But the officers who showed up were kind about the whole thing, which turned what could have been the low point of the week into just another strange story for the collection.
Meanwhile, the girls kept things moving in Watertown, putting in their own hours on their own streets, before everyone shifted again.
On the Move, Again
Sunday brought the usual reshuffling. Gabriel packed up and headed for North Sioux City. The girls left Watertown behind for Brookings. New towns, new streets, new doors — the map keeps redrawing itself, and the team keeps redrawing itself to match it.
We don’t know exactly how many more weeks of this the summer has left in it (we know). What we do know is that this job was never really about the doors. It’s about what happens after you knock — the dog that decides you’re its new best friend, the pastor who feeds you when you least expect it, the police officers who turn a scary moment into a kind one. Door by door, town by town, we’re getting braver, we’re building friendships that will outlast this summer by years, and we’re collecting stories we’ll be telling for a long time to come.
Uus nädal kingib meile second chance’i: saame valida ühe auhinna, mida varem ei õnnestunud võita.
There’s a rhythm Team 7UP has settled into by now — knock, talk, laugh, knock again, repeat until the Sioux Falls sky starts doing that long, golden Midwest-summer thing right before dusk. Week 10 had all of that familiar rhythm, but it also had something new humming underneath it: the quiet awareness that the summer is entering its final stretch, and every ordinary day is starting to feel a little more worth remembering.
By now, comfort zones aren’t just being stretched — they’ve been stretched, folded, stretched again, and somewhere in there turned into something closer to confidence. Selling books door to door will do that to a person. You learn to recover fast from a “no,” to actually listen when someone wants to talk about their day, and to find the humor in situations you never would have signed up for on paper. Team 7UP has become noticeably more resilient, more adaptable, and — maybe most importantly — more knit together as a team. Ten weeks in, that shows.
Adventures, Big Horns, and a Dog With Zero Boundaries
Some of the best stories this summer haven’t happened at doors at all — they’ve happened in the in-between moments. This week, Liisa, Mari, and Luise decided they wanted to swim in a lake, so, in true 7UP fashion, they simply did. Liisa tracked down a car for the mini road trip, and the group set off — though not before hitting their first real obstacle of the day: which fuel actually goes in the car. There’s now a video circulating of the girls deep in serious debate over this exact question, and it’s exactly as suspenseful as it sounds. Good news for everyone involved — they figured it out, the car survived, and the lake swim happened as planned.
Luise, meanwhile, continued her streak of somehow ending up in the most unusual and wonderful situations. She met a dog this week with absolutely no concept of personal space — a good boy whose favorite move is putting his face directly up against yours, as close as physically possible. She also danced an Estonian national song with a family who welcomed her in, which is the kind of moment that doesn’t show up in a sales pitch training manual but might be one of the realest parts of this whole experience. And in between all that, she tried Ethiopian food made from plantain flour — one more entry in what is turning into a very well-traveled summer palate.
Michael had a day that could’ve gone sideways twice and instead went right both times — two separate bike problems in the same day, and both resolved themselves with almost suspicious speed and good luck. Doors kept opening for him in more ways than one this week, too: he ended up in conversations with people from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand, and Taiwan — a reminder that Sioux Falls, South Dakota, of all places, holds an entire world’s worth of stories if you’re willing to knock and ask.
And Parvin? Parvin saw more cows. Specifically, more cows with genuinely impressive horns. South Dakota delivers.
A Flower Power Win for Liisa
This week’s Flower Power recognition goes to Liisa, which means she now has the power to send flowers to anyone, anywhere. It’s a small prize with a nice ripple effect — proof that hard work this week didn’t go unnoticed, and a fun bit of magic to have in her back pocket for whenever the moment feels right.
Taco Bell, Goodbyes, and Three Directions
Sunday looked a little different this time. Instead of gathering in person, the team held their weekly meeting online — because right after, everyone was heading in three different directions: Yankton, Watertown, and Huron. But before the group scattered across South Dakota, all seven of them — Mari, Liisa, Luise, Parvin, Matthias, Gabriel, and Michael — sat down together one more time for breakfast at Taco Bell. There’s a photo of the whole crew from that morning, and it’s the kind of picture that doesn’t need much explanation: seven people, one table, about to head off in separate directions, still finding a reason to laugh before they did.
Looking Ahead
As the final weeks of the summer come into view, Team 7UP is carrying more than sales numbers and mileage logs. They’re carrying lake-swim memories, fuel-debate footage, a dog with no sense of personal space, an Estonian dance shared with strangers who became, for one evening, something like friends. They’re carrying conversations with people from six different countries, cows with big horns, and lucky bike fixes.
Because in the end, this summer was never only about knocking on doors. It’s about becoming a little braver every single day, building friendships that will outlast the summer by years, and quietly collecting a stack of stories that Team 7UP will still be telling — and laughing about — long after the last door has closed.

Meie vahvad hülged on juba jõudnud läbida 9,5 nädalat vinget tööd.😱😱 Aeg on aina kiiremini hakkanud lendama ja lõpp on juba käega katsutav, kuid nüüd algab kiirendus enne lõpusirget. Siit saab ainult kasvada veel edasi.
Patrik – Noniii ja ongi Flowa Powa nädal korralikult ribadeks tõmmatud. Mõnusalt siin Valdezi linnakeses lahedaid inimesi nähtud ja mälestusi loodud! Uskumatu kuidas aeg lendab. Let’s get it
Laura naudib kuuma Wyomingut edasi, kus on täiesti teine vaatepilt
Hei, vanemad! 🕶️👕
Eelmisel nädalal oli väljakutseks teha oma parim nädal sit-down’ides ehk istuda võimalikult paljude peredega maha ja teha neile korralik esitlus. Selle challenge’i parimad olid Janar, Aksel ja Gustav, kes kõik said endale selle eest päikseprillid. 😎🕶️
Järgmisel nädalal läheb aga mäng huvitavaks, sest saame ise valida, millist väljakutset uuesti teha tahame. 👀 Valida saab challenge’i, mida me varem veel võitnud ei ole, nii et nüüd tuleb natuke strateegiat kasutada ja mõelda, millises kategoorias võiks järgmine võit tulla. 🧠🏆
